Tiffany Jones
Assistant Professor
Tiffany Jones, MS, is an assistant professor of practice in the Special Education licensure program at Portland State University. She is the coordinator of the Inclusive Elementary Educator Program.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Warner Pacific College, and later added a master’s degree in special education from Portland State University. She is a licensed teacher with endorsements in elementary and special education. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in special education. Prior to her current position as an instructor at PSU she spent 20 years as a teacher and behavior consultant in middle and high schools throughout the Portland Metropolitan area.
Professor Jones has a specific interest in teacher education, mentoring and coaching of new teachers, and advocating for the education of minority and at-risk students with disabilities. Her research and scholarly interests include preparation of teachers working on a restricted or emergency license, as well as literacy and behavioral interventions for students with disabilities that are also categorized as at-risk (e.g., minority youth, youth in foster care, and those impacted by issues of poverty).
